Protégé Permanent Lift
In addition to Ascension’s legendary looks, performance, and reliability, installation is straightforward. The lift mounts directly on the existing floor with no installation pit, and yet it needs no access ramp. The weight of the Protégé rests on the floor away from the walls – no part of the lift is supported by wall anchors.
Protégé Portable Lift
Ascension portable wheelchair lifts are the preeminent choice for facilities that need flexible and convenient ADA access, often in several locations with multiple performance stages. Use the lift when and where you need it, then store it away until your next event. World-class Ascension lifts with no machine tower or access ramp are designed for one person to move and set up in just a few minutes. Once set up, the Protégé sits firmly on its stable base with casters stored safely inside the locking storage compartment, so you can leave it in place indefinitely or move it as needed for maximum flexibility.

Drive Train Warranty
Permanent Model: As with all new Ascension lift warranties, you get 10 years on the drive train, 4 years on all other parts, and 90 days on labor. Standard.
Portable Model: As with all new Ascension lift warranties, you get 20 years on the
drive train, 5 years on all other parts, and 1 year on labor. Standard.
Panoramic Window Area
All four sides have high-impact thermoplastic windows so passengers
can see out and others can see through the lift when it rises. For school
use, the view reassures children in wheelchairs while freeing teachers
to monitor activity in the lift at a glance.

Installation with No “Pit” and No Access Ramp
Permanent model: The slim-line platform floor simplifies site preparation by mounting directly on the existing slab, yet it does not require a space-hungry access ramp – lift entry is still directly from floor level.
Portable model: The lift sets up on the existing floor with access directly from floor level. With Ascension, the days of access ramps are gone.
Small Footprint
Permanent model: The permanent Protégé needs as little as 52” of clear width for installation, and floor-level entry keeps the footprint small by eliminating access ramps.
Portable model: Limited floor space? The small footprint
means Ascension lifts only extend about 5.5 in front of a stage.
Open Under-Platform Aesthetic
The area under the Protégé is open when the lift rises for a clean aesthetic. Sensors stop lift travel when they encounter any object.

Upper Landing Gate
An upper landing gate (ULG) with integral window adds safety to most permanent lift
applications. The ULG may be eliminated to take full advantage of the Protégé’s low profile for some specialized uses, such as inside orchestra pits, and in front of stages.

Low Profile + 360-Degree Protection
The Ascension Protégé stands 49" high in the down position, yet the user is
surrounded by four protective sides with plentiful window area. This innovative design maintains lines of sight while protecting standing attendants and patrons with walkers from falls.

Double-Sided Stability
The dual-cylinder direct-acting hydraulic drive system maintains passenger platform
stability for a smooth ride.

Automatic Dock-Plate Transition
All portable models feature an automatic
dock plate for a smooth transition onto the
stage. The overall experience is smooth and
comfortable from start to finish.

Narrow Doorway Pass-Through
Every portable Protégé can be compressed and moved on its own casters through doorways between 33" and 48" wide (no compression is required for wider openings). For efficiency, order the optional Compression Tool Kit.
